Color Palette: Yellow, red, & grey

This picture caught my eye with it's simple use of primary colors merging so well. I made this color palette with that soft sage green from the vase but I coud've just as easily swapped it for that kelly green from the book. I love them both! I don't usually love yellow and red together but this is proof that if done right, those colors together can really brighten a room. I really like how the soft grey and dark navy blue provide the right contrast. Also, I don't know why I didn't collect those ikat bowls from Anthro.

Color Palette: Sweet Pastels

I'm insanely drawn to sweet pastel palettes like this one! I usually make my own but I had to pass along this one I found via Pinterest from The Sweetest Occasion. It reminds me of the upcoming Spring and all the pretty things it brings with it as well as all the things I'm hoping for. Things I hope will blossom into lovely events, great changes and fond memories. It's such a refreshing mix of colors isn't it? What do you most anticipate about Spring? 

Color Palette: Eclectic Hollywood Regency- Indigo, Mint & Garnet

I love Hollywood regency and the golden age of Hollywood in general so when I cam e across this picture (I don't have a source to credit, if you know it please let me know) I fell in love with the color palette. The colors are so unique to the style, it's a bit feminine with a modern edge. I didn't include that lovely pink in the palette but it's definitely crucial to this room. There's something about mint that I find calming and neutral enough to mix with other things in a room. I love the way the bold black and white zig-zag area rug ties in the room. Color Palette: Anthro-inspired Grey, Coral & Mustard

How lovely is this ruffled/scalloped comforter? It also comes in a great marigold color. I'm loving mustard at the moment and pairing it with grey and coral makes it that much better. I'm seeking out my favorite color palette for when we finally move and I get to decorate a new place. This one I would say is in the top 5.

Baby Girl: Harajuku Mini for Target

I can't tell you how darling I find Gwen Stefani's Harajuku Mini for Target collection! granted I love everything the woman touches. ♥ This collection is bananas and I dont even have a baby! The pink, the tulle, the polka dots and stripes, it's all adorable. Look at those leg warmers!

This collection also includes clothing for toddlers and tweens, including some outfits for boys as well. Along with these super kawaii pieces there are some accessories like handbags and backpacks with the Harajuku Lovers in mini form. The Harajuku Mini collection will be out on November 13th. Bridal Shower: DIY Decor Ideas

Hey girls, I know I've been away for a few days but I've been crafting up a pretty bundle of things for the bridal shower. I thought I'd share a sneak peek of just some of the decor I've made so far. As you all know the color palette for my friend's bridal shower is navy, blush pink, white and grey. I'm having a blast coming up with pretty decor and sourcing props! Some things I'm basing off of inspiration I've seen online and other things are all my own ideas. I love the challenge of coming up with neat craft ideas to infuse with the bride-to-be's personality and things she loves. She loves shabby chic, French-inspired decor and romantic details so I'm trying my best to make all those things happen. All with a super girly twist of course.

I chose paper as my main material to work with. As I mentioned before with the paper pinwheels. I've made some of those as well as paper poms in different sizes and colors and bunting to match the mini one that will be the cake topper (top right). Striped paper straws with custom flags that say "Love is all you need" (bottom right) Auna's favorite quote and the motto for the shower were a must.

Crepe paper is super versatile! Turns out you can do almost anything with it. I decided to make ruffled crepe flowers as the base for brooches for each of the wedding party girls to wear at the shower (top left). I also used tulle layered on top of the crepe flowers to give it a bit of fluff and texture. Then printed the titles onto bracket labels and mounted them onto navy card stock and cut them out. I added ribbon to the Bride-to-be's brooch to set it apart.

I've also made individual dessert label cards. I bought scrapbooking paper in the color palette then measured, cut and mounted it onto folded card stock tents for durability. Then labeled them with the name of each treat. And topped it with twine tied in a bow. I can't wait to put this dessert table together! So excited.

Each of these materials are super affordable and can be bought at the dollar store or Michael's with their weekly coupons. It's a nice surprise to add custom touches to an event, it makes it that much more personal. I'll be posting more decor projects and once the shower is here I'll make sure and post finished pictures of how it all turned out!

Bridal Shower Color Palette: Grey, Pink, Ivory, Midnight Blue & Champagne

This is the custom color palette I came up with for my friend's bridal shower next month. There's lots of planning, brain storming and creating going on. What do you girls think? I love the neutrals paired with the dark blue and softer pink. I wish I had a source I could credit for this color board that I based the palette off of (more so the colors than the out dated trends, of course) but alas Pinterest isn't the best for that. Defining Decor: Bold Black & White Graphic

There's something so simply chic about black and white in interior design. It's accommodating to different styles and tastes and no one can debate that it doesn't look good. Black and white is my go-to combo for just about everything from my wardrobe to my home, I just absolutely love the contrast. It's go bold or go home when it comes to decorating with this color combination. A pop of a bright third color really adds to a space making it playful but still sophisticated. Here are examples of how bold black and white graphics can be used to define your style. {I don't have credits for the above images except the one that is noted, please comment with the credit if you happen to know it}

A graphic rug or cushion can be added to any space to give it a bold look and add dimension. Rug from here and cushion from here. I love the look of black piping or trimming on bedding and furniture too. My favorite design style for using bold black and white graphic decor and design is Hollywood Regency, there's nothing like it.

Color Palette: Bubblegum+Tangerine

I love all the pastels for the season but like the contrast when paired with bold colors. This fire-y tangerine with pastel bubblegum combo has been on my mind lately, I just love the combination.  It's bold and light. This color palette is all around flattering for the home, wardrobe and even beauty. Pair a bold tangerine lip with a soft pink blush for a sweet Summer beauty look. A soft pink cardigan flatters a coral skirt or shorts. And if you're looking for a bold new color of paint for an accent wall, this shade of orange with pink accents would be perfect.

Color Palette + Bridal Shower Shoot: Paper Crowns & Glittering Romance

Such a feminine, glittery soiree! Great ideas for a glamorous bridal shower inspired by ballet and all things frilly and pretty. Color Palette: Kate Spade Wedding Belles

 Kate Spade's new wedding line called Wedding Belles is bright, sophisticated and fun. I love the vibrant color story, especially the red and blue combination here. A strong red with an electric blue and soft pink with a pastel blue.  The look is mod with a modern twist, I can see brides gravitating towards this line and it's easy to mix-and-match style. The line carries an array of glam baubles and colorful accessories along with their chic wedding dresses. Yes, still loving balloons as props, {see here, here, & here} they just make a picture pop!
