Color Palette: Eclectic Hollywood Regency- Indigo, Mint & Garnet

I love Hollywood regency and the golden age of Hollywood in general so when I cam e across this picture (I don't have a source to credit, if you know it please let me know) I fell in love with the color palette. The colors are so unique to the style, it's a bit feminine with a modern edge. I didn't include that lovely pink in the palette but it's definitely crucial to this room. There's something about mint that I find calming and neutral enough to mix with other things in a room. I love the way the bold black and white zig-zag area rug ties in the room. Circus-Themed Inspiration Week: Women in the Circus

 In anticipation to the premiere of Water for Elephants on April 22nd  I'll be posting circus inspiration including art, stationary and nursery design to fashion, home goods and event design. The circus has so much inspiration that can be portrayed in different ways, with a broad range of colors and styles. I love these vintage pictures of women in the circus, their grace, beauty and nostalgia are so captivating. Stay tuned for more circus-themed goodness.

Mad about Mid Century Modern

Okay so I'm way behind with catching on to how amazing Mad Men is. But only because I don't have cable. If not, I do believe I would've been hooked on it a lot sooner. Not only is the show great because of it's characters and story but the design and styling is to die for. It's a feast for a creative's eyes! All of that lovely mid century goodness with fantastic wardrobe is reason alone to start watching the show. Mid century modern is really making a comeback, especially through design blogs filled with before and after furniture renovations and vintage lovers collecting their favorite pieces {like milk glass, vintage Pyrex & retro lamps} through Etsy. The style is classic, all-American, sleek and stylish, yet cozy. These interiors are as inviting as they are effortlessly styled to perfection. Expect to see some more Mad Men-inspired posts until I get it all out of my system. Vintage 1950's Wedding

I don't usually post a ton about weddings but when I come across one that catches my eye because it has something truely special I just have to pass it along. Like this vintage wedding that has such an amazing wardrobe! This wedding gown is stunning! I love to come across wedding dresses that aren't strapless, there are so many other flattering designs. It's modeled after the classic black and white gown that Audrey Hepburn wore in Sabrina. Which totally hits home for me. I love the ivory taffeta, the lovely cap sleeves, the amazing train with ruffle trimming, and look at the brooch detail on the back! Dress by Forever Rebecca. Paired with elbow length gloves and a short blusher veil just ties in the theme and feel of this wedding. The bridesmaid dresses were handmade and are so authentic to the era.
